The New Sony Vaio W Series Eco-friendly Laptops

The upgraded Sony Vaio W series laptops have some green credentials along with some enhanced components compared to the older W series laptops. This eco-friendly W series also sport 3 hues – cocoa brown (VPCW12S1E/T), pink (VPCW12S1E/P) and sugar white (VPCW12S1E/W). The attractive Sony Vaio aesthetics, which are part of all other Sony Vaio products are seen in these workstations as well.

The W series netbooks are 10.1″ display devices, which offer a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels each. The Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor has been employed. A maximum of 1GB DDR2 RAM is supported. The hard drive that ships in the netbooks is a 250GB capacity one. The Intel GMA 950 GPU handles graphics processing. The Windows 7 Starter edition comes pre-installed in the devices.

A long array of interfaces sit along the sides of the Sony Vaio W series netbook. There are 2 USB ports, a VGA output, a microphone jack and a headphone jack. Plus, the Sony trademarked Memory Stick slot that reads Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo is as well present. Thankfully an SD card slot is also housed in the netbooks.

The Sony Vaio W Netbooks allow linking to the internet at WiFi hotspots and wired Ethernet connection. Bluetooth is supported too for wireless data exchange with proficient devices.

These workstations are equipped with high definition stereo speakers. There is a 0.3MP web camera built within too.

These netbooks use recycled material for their packaging. The company also claims that their products are developed using vegetable-based plastics, which can be recycled.

The Sony Vaio W Series Netbook has been priced at £349.99. It is said to be available during February 2010.
