Sony Vaio VGN-NS20 15” Laptop is the latest in the N Series laptops from Sony Vaio. A pleasant surprise with this laptop is that it is relatively cheaper than the other Sony Vaio mobile computers. It costs about £479. This reduced price is supposed to be the result of using low priced yet efficient components. This mobile PC is supposed to be a stepped up version of the Sony Vaio VGN-NS10 laptop.
Internally this laptop is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T4200 processor. There is a 3GB DDR2 RAM and a 250 GB hard drive. There is as well a DVD read/write drive housed in this device. A 15.4” glossy LCD screen is featured which presents a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. For handling graphics and videos, the Intel GMA 4500MHD card has been integrated into this portable computer. The Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS comes installed with this workstation.
Internet connectivity can be achieved with the wired Ethernet connection or the WiFi 802.11n connection. Bluetooth is however, not offered by this model. A long list of ports and interfaces have also been packed into this device – 4 USB 2.0, a microphone input, a headphone output, a mini FireWire port, an SD card slot, a Sony MS card slot, an ExpressCard slot and a VGA analogue output are all present. Stereo speakers and a web camera have as well been built into this mobile computer. The entire unit weighs about 2.7kg.
Not much of a gaming laptop, the Sony Vaio VGN-NS20 Laptop will definitely cater to your internet browsing, emailing and other basic needs. This laptop does look good, though it has a plastic finish.
