Toshiba NB200 Netbook

Netbooks definitely are very attractive. But with the market flooding with these devices, it is a real brain storm for manufacturers to come out with something new and different. The Toshiba NB200 Netbook is a neat and compact mobile computer, which comes in black, white and other coloured cases. What’s outstanding in this portable PC is its power saving technique and its secure hard drive feature.

There is a USB port in this netbook that can be left powered on even when the netbook is turned off completely. This lets you charge music players or mobile phones without needing the netbook to be powered up. There is a hard drive of 160GB capacity. It has a sensor that detects when the netbook is subjected to jerks, or falls. This sensor activates a mechanism that protects the hard drive during any mishap.

A 10.1” 1024×600 pixels screen is sported by this netbook. It is powered by the Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor. A 1GB RAM is also present in this device. The Intel GMA 950 processor is employed for handling graphics. The operating system that comes pre-loaded in this portable PC is the Microsoft Windows XP Home edition.

There are 3 USB ports, a VGA port, built-in speakers and an Ethernet connector packed in this netbook. Internet can be accessed either using this wired Ethernet connection or wireless WiFi in a hotspot. Even Bluetooth is supported for wireless file transfer to other gadgets.

At 1.33kg, the Toshiba NB200 10” Netbook is highly portable. It measures 263mm x 25mm x 211mm. The price tag that this mini laptop carries is about £360.
