The red black combination of this mobile computer does look attractive. It packs in some powerful features that make it most suitable for multimedia and gaming.
The Toshiba Qosmio X300 features the Intel Centrino 2 processor technology with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a speed of 2.53GHz. More powerful and faster processors (Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.06GHz) are available too, for applications that require great processing speed. These models carry a heavier price tag as well. A 4GB DDR3 RAM is housed in this device along with a 320GB hard drive. The more powerful models come with two 320GB hard drives too. A DVD Super Multi drive is also present in this mobile PC. A 17” TFT widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels is sported. The basic model features the NVIDIA GeForce 9700M graphics adapter. For enhanced graphics performance, the more powerful models have the NVIDIA GeForce 9800M adapter. The operating system that this laptop ships with is the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium.
WiFi and Bluetooth technologies are supported by this gaming laptop. Other connections on board are 2 USB ports, a memory card slot, a headphone socket, a digital audio output, a USB/eSATA combination port, A VGA connector, an HDMI link, a socket to connect other display monitors and a Gigabit Ethernet connector. A 1.3 Megapixel camera has been integrated into this device as well. Another feature that deserves appreciation is the Harman Kardon audio that has been used in this laptop. Thus, rich sound effects accompany the stunning visuals.
The Toshiba Qosmio X300 Gaming Laptop is priced at about £1173 for the base model. The more powerful models are available at about £2600. Weighing almost 4kg, this laptop is not very portable. The battery life offered is also low compared to other gaming laptops available in the market. However, the features look quite promising to provide a great gaming experience.
