Apricot Picobook Pro 8.9” Netbook is one of those cute little laptops with powerful internal components for mobile computation on the move. The 8.9” widescreen display of this netbook has an appreciable resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. There are 2 versions of this mini laptop, the VL and the VX. The Picobook Pro VL ships with the Novel Networks SUSE OS, while the Picobook Pro VX features the Windows XP Home Edition. The internal processing of this mobile computer is handled by the VIA C7-M Ultra Low Voltage processor which has a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. The VIA VX800 Unified Chipset has also been integrated into this ultra-portable PC. A 1GB RAM is on-board this device, along with a 60GB hard drive.
The graphics of this UMPC is taken care of by the VIA Chrome9 HC3 graphics core that has been integrated into it. A rich media experience is presented too, with the VIA Vinyl HD Audio controller and 192kHz sampling rate. There is a 1.3 Megapixel web-camera built into this highly mobile PC as well.
Networking options include support for wired ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth, just like many other contemporary netbooks in the market. However, there is a unique feature that the Apricot Picobook Pro offers – WiMAX connection.

The Apricot Picobook Pro UMPC measures just 230mm by 171mm by 38.7mm and weighs less than a kg – 0.98g. This makes this netbook a highly portable one. Also a battery life of 4 hours is quite applaud-able for a netbook this small!
