ViewSonic VNB101 Netbook

The ViewSonic VNB101 Laptop is hailed as thin, stylish and capable. It definitely is thin and stylish looking, however, the capability aspect remains to be tested. It is internally powered by the Intel Atom N280 processor which has a frequency of 1.6GHz. A 1GB RAM has been housed in this device. There is a 160GB hard drive present as well. The operating system that this mobile computer ships with is the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
The ViewSonic VNB101 sports a 10″ LED backlit display which has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. A 16:9 aspect ratio is presented, putting this screen in the widescreen category. The graphics processor used is the Intel GMA950. WiFi and wired Ethernet are both supported for logging into the internet. You can link to other gadgets without wires, using Bluetooth as well. The interfaces that sit along the sides of this netbook are – 2 USB ports, microphone socket, headphone socket, a VGA port, a 5-in-1 card reader for SD, SDHC, MMC, MS & MS Pro, the Ethernet connection and a Kensington lock.
The ViewSonic VNB101 10″ Netbook is an easy to carry device with a weight of just 1.1kg and measurements of 266mm X 25mm X 182mm. A 92% keyboard is present along with a multi-touch trackpad. This trackpad supports scrolling, drag & drop, pinch, swipe, rotate, tap and double tap gestures. Clad in golden, black and dark red cloaks, this netbook carries a price tag of £288. However, the battery life does not seem to be very impressive.
