Virgin Media Freedom Netbook – Free With Broadband Package
Posted on September 19, 2009
Virgin Media Freedom Netbook is the new freebie that is shipping with Virgin Media’s 10Mbps broadband package. The mobile broadband stick also joins the netbook in the package. The netbook does look attractive with its glossy black coat. It can attract attention as well as finger prints. The keyboard looks a little congested, while the multi touchpad is broad and spacious. It is highly responsive too.
Nothing special about this netbook really. It packs in the usual specifications. The Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, a 1GB RAM, a 120GB hard drive, the Intel GMA 950 adaptor for graphics and Windows XP OS. The 10.2″ screen of this laptop has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It is glossy and highly reflective when taken out in the sun.
The ports housed in this Virgin media device include a memory card reader, an Ethernet port, a VGA video output, 2 USB ports, headphone and microphone jacks. The battery life of this ultra-portable PC is quite less, just below 2 hours. Hence there’s not much ‘freedom’ to stay away from the plug point for a long time.
The broadband/ laptop deal, which includes the Virgin Media Freedom 10″ Netbook, is for a period of 24 months. It will total up to an amount of £669. The offer is – for the first 3 months you will have to pay £20 every month and for the remainder period of 21 months, you will be charged £29 a month.
